Sony expected to Launch Xperia Z5 & Z5 Premium in India on 21st October

Japanese electronics giant Sony is expected to launch two new premium-range of smartphones – the Xperia Z5 Premium Dual and Sony Xperia Z5 Dual in India on 21st October. Sony India has already started sending media invites for an event called “Block Your Date”where they are going to unveil its 2015 flagship Xperia Z5 line up for the Indian market.

Earlier in September, during the IFA 2015 meet at Berlin, Sony had launched the above mentioned two phones along with Xperia Z5 Compact but as per sources Sony may not launch the Xperia Z5 Compact to India, at least not in the first phase of its flagship rollout.This is further confirmed by the fact that Sony India website currently lists the Xperia Z5 Dual and Xperia Z5 Premium Dual only. This Japanese tech major company also confirmed at the IFA event that the world’s first 4K resolution display smartphone, the Xperia Z5 Premium will be available for shipping from November 2015 and it is expected that they will announce the availability date for the phone during this “Block Your Date” event.

Xperia Z5 Premium and Xperia Z5 will come in both single- and dual-sim variants. Both devices are water-resistant (IP 65/68). These twodevices are also the very first Sony handsets to feature a fingerprint sensor for security purpose and the sensor will be integrated with the power button which is placed at the right edge of the phone.

Sony’s latest flagship deviceXperia Z5 Premium is the world’s first smartphone to sport a 4K resolution display. The Z5 Premium comes with a 5.5-inch 4K Triluminos display (3840 x 2160p) with a mind blowing pixel density of 806 ppi. This phone also enhances any native or third party videos or photos upgradable to 4K display so that users can watch YouTube, Netflixor their own videos in 4K resolution display.

The main USP of these premium range smartphone from Sony is the improved camera. All the Sony Xperia Z5 handsets are housed with a brand new 1/2.3 Exmor RS for mobile 23-megapixel sensor and F/2.0 G lens. Sony at the unveiling event had also claimed to have designed the camera of its new flagship using the exact technology that’s seen in its Alpha range of interchangeable lens cameras. These phone will also feature a 5 MP front camera too.

Both the handsets are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB in-built storage which is further expandable up to 200GB through microSD card. Sony Xperia Z5 and Xperia  Z5 Premium support Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 that facilitates users to get 5.5 hours usage with just 10 minutes of charging. In the connectivity measure both the phone support 4G LTE, 3G, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity options.

Xperia Z5 Premium is powered by a 3,430mAh battery lasting for up to two days, as per the company’s claim and comes in black, chrome and gold colours. Xperia Z5 is backed by  a 2,900mAh battery and comes in White, Gold,Graphite Black and Green colours.

Sony marked the price of the Xperia Z5 at GBP 599 and Xperia Z5 Premium at GBP 699 for the international market.Though it is not confirmed yet but we are expecting that the pricing of these two flagship devices in India will remain almost same as the international market.
