Details about the handsets is now available on the company’s China website without any price tag. This puts an end to the innumerable leaks and rumours that has been doing the rounds for the last couple of months. The handsets are successor to the Samsung Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7 that were launched last year. As of now Samsung hasn’t announced if the mid-range smartphones are going to be available in other countries. Both devices are available in white, pink, gold colour options. Starting with the Samsung Galaxy J7 which is, by the way, the larger one in the pair, the handset features a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 402ppi and 1080p resolution which is a boost from last year’s 720p. The device is powered by a 1.6 GHz octa-core SoC processor that comes coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage and can be expanded via a microSD card. As for the cameras, the handset come with 5-megapixel selfie camera and 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture. The phone also supports dual-SIM card slots and runs on Android Marshmallow. The connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, 4G LTE with VoLTE, Samsung’s latest TouchWiz, etc. Galaxy J7 is powered by 3,300mAh battery that is supposed to deliver up to 354 hours stand time. The device measures 151.7x76x7.8mm and weighs around 170 grams. The device is powered by a quad-core processor that is clocked at 1.2GHz. The handset comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory that can be expanded via a microSD card. In the department of camera, Galaxy J5 offers a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie shooter. A 3100mAh battery backs the device which is supposed to provide up to 369 hours standby time. On the connectivity front, the Galaxy J5 is quiet similar to J7 and offers features like Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, 4G LTE with VoLTE, Samsung’s latest TouchWiz, etc. The handset measures 145.8×72.3×8.1mm and weighs 159 grams.
