Xiaomi stepped on the Indian smartphone market in 2014, and since then has increased their smartphone sales in the country by 72 percent. Jain also tweeted that the company has sold 1.75 million units of the Redmi Note 3 in just five months since the device released back in March this year. Xiaomi is trying to boost the smartphone sales in India even more, and the price-cut is expected to play a major role in that vision. Also, Mi 5 is the first handset of the company to get a price-cut in India.
