Great news for the Xiaomi fans: Mi 5 is now available at Rs 22,999

Xiaomi Mi 5, which was launched in India back in March this year with a hefty price tag of Rs.24,999 is now available at Rs 22,999 on Mi.com and Flipkart. The company’s head in the country, Manu Jain tweeted today about this price-cut and said it is permanent. He wrote in his account on the micro-blogging site, “#Mi5 for Rs. 22,999 ☺️☺️ Starting today, we are announcing a permanent price drop for Mi 5. Buy it from Mi. com and @Flipkart. @XiaomiIndia,”. Earlier, the Xiaomi India head also teased the fans about the price-cut and said: “something wonderful is about to happen”.

Xiaomi Mi 5, the flagship device of the Chinese company features top-notch specifications, flaunts a IPS full-HD display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and is powered by the latest Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor coupled with 3GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. On the camera aspect, the handset sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization and 5-megapixel front camera. Moreover, the device runs on the Android v6.0 Marshmallow and includes modern day sensor options like fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, barometer.

Xiaomi stepped on the Indian smartphone market in 2014, and since then has increased their smartphone sales in the country by 72 percent. Jain also tweeted that the company has sold 1.75 million units of the Redmi Note 3 in just five months since the device released back in March this year. Xiaomi is trying to boost the smartphone sales in India even more, and the price-cut is expected to play a major role in that vision. Also, Mi 5 is the first handset of the company to get a price-cut in India.

Xiaomi Mi 5 is available in black and white colour variant, and both the vendors, Flipkart and Mi.com are showing revised price for the Mi 5 on their sites.
