Huawei has announced the launch of its latest device, the Honor 8 which will set to vbe available in a few weeks time and the new upcoming smartphone looks quite similar to the previous P Series smartphones introduced earlier this year by Huawei. The new Honor 8 seems quite similar to the Honor P9, which was launched a while ago in India, and it has the same dual-camera technology inside it but will be available at a comparatively lower price tag.
“India is a crucial market for Huawei… The company will be strengthening its aftersales services in India with over 200 service centers, including more than 30 exclusive Huawei service centres in India. Huawei Consumer Business Group will also expand its distribution network by partnering with more than 50,000 retail outlets by the end of 2016. he company will also manufacture the first ‘Make in India’ Honor smartphones model starting first week of October 2016.”

Hardware and Software
The Honor 8 version available in China comes with a 5.2-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display. The 2.3GHz octa-core Kirin 950 processor powers this phone which also has Mali T880-MP4 GPU and 3GB/4GB RAM for the different variants. Besides, 32GB/64GB of internal storage, the device comes with an optional storage for up to a 128GB micro SD card. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and has a customised interface – EMUI 4.1. The device also has a glass back cover that fuses into the metal frame to give it good looks.
Camera and Battery Specifications
The Honor 8 Chinese version has a dual rear camera set up – both the cameras are of 12-megapixel resolution. A dual-tone LED flash light is in the back too. The primary rear camera has f/2.2 aperture and Laser AF. In the front, an 8-megapixel shooter with f/2.4 aperture has been provided for video calling and selfie taking purposes.
The Phone houses a 3000 mAh battery and comes with the features like the fingerprint scanner, placed on the rear cover, and fast charging.
Price and Availability
The Honor 8 Chinese version comes in three variants- one with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage is priced at CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs 19,926), another with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal memory at CNY 2,299 (approximately Rs 22,916), while the last one has 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, and cost CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs 24,910) in China. The smartphone comes in five different colours- Pearl White, Sunrise Gold, Midnight Black, Sakura Pink and Sapphire Blue.
