Mobiles Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime Launched in India and Will Sport Samsung’s S-Power Planning and S-Secure features By Sagnik Debnath Posted on September 19, 2016 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr Samsung has finally launched its latest addition to the Galaxy J series of smartphones, the new Galaxy J5 Prime in India yesterday which is slated to sport a small but significant improvement over the Galaxy J5 which was launched earlier this year at a price of approximately Rs.11,000 on Flipkart. Samsung is banking on two key features to sell its new Galaxy J phones: S Power planning and S Secure. The S Power planning is essentially a battery saving feature that allows users to reserve the phone’s battery for calls, extend its battery time in general and forward calls when it is running low on juice. The S Secure feature, on the other hand, allows users to lock and hide their applications, secure Wi-Fi and create a separate Secure folder for images and applications. Both these features are said to be included in the Galaxy J5 prime. Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime Phone Specifications: Hardware and Software: The Galaxy J5 Prime flaunts a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD capacitive touchscreen (1280×720 pixels) display and is powered by an Exynos quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The device also sports 16GB onboard memory, which can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box. Camera Specifications: On the camera front, the smartphone is equipped with a f/1.9, 28mm 13-megapixel rear camera with features like autofocus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and video shooting ability of 1080p@30fps. The device also sports a f/1.9 5MP front shooter with LED Flash for video calling purposes. Battery and connectivity: The Galaxy J5 Prime features a 2,400mAh battery . Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G with VoLTE support, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. How much will the device cost and where will it be available? The Galaxy J5 Prime will be available in the Samsung retail stores all over the country and will also be available on online E-commerce platforms soon. The device is available in Black and Gold coloured variants and will ne priced at around Rs.15,000.
