It was expected that The Last of Us Remastered would be one of the biggest hits in the PS 4 Pro which has been released by its maker Sony only a few days back. But as it stands now PS 4 Pro could not live up to its expectations as it has been found that it runs better on PS 4. In fact, the running of The Last of Us Remastered in the PS 4 Pro has disappointed, to say the least.
Regarding the running of The Last of Us Remastered, Digital Foundry has remarked that it runs a bit slow on this device. Digital Foundry has actually been quite critical of PS 4 Pro which is a Polaris-powered console and promises much more than it has actually shown to be. They reported “Probably the most surprising example of this is The Last of Us Remastered, a Naughty Dog production. The team has a reputation not just as one of the most cutting-edge developers in the industry, but also for their superb optimisation skills”.
The team of Digital Foundry added, “Generally speaking, The Last of Us has been an absolute joy to revisit on PS4 Pro. You get a 3200×1800 resolution in 60fps mode, rising to native 4K at 30fps. It’s also one of the best HDR titles we’ve tried. So if you have a 4K display, losing 2-5fps in performance in the 60fps mode doesn’t feel like a bad trade as such, but the point is that you cannot opt for enhanced performance instead”. The site also tested the PS4 version of The Last of Us Remastered, where they found that it ran at a “locked 60FPS, while the Pro may drop frames”.
However, it has been a treat for the gamers when they have tried to play The Last of Us Remastered in PS 4. While trying to find out the cause behind such a disappointing display of the The Last of Us Remastered in PS 4 Pro, it has stated that the game is one of the rare games featuring 4k graphics. And hence there are decreased frame rates when it is compared to the normal PlayStation.
This is quite frustrating for the gamers who find this really a weird situation as they have hoped that the latest gaming console will provide them with an opportunity to enjoy the games even more. However, as it stands now, that is not to be, as The Last of Us Remastered has failed to provide a good review of the PS 4 Pro. On the rise of this, Sony has asked the game maker to look into the matter which has added to the woes of the fans of The Last of US Remastered.
