And the latest rumours have revealed that Samsung will come up with Samsung Galaxy Note 8. And as per our previous reports, the device is scheduled to hit the market in the upcoming year. However, the name of the new device has left many users in utter confusion for there has been a previous device entitled Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 which came out in the market in April 2013. To clear out the confusion, we present here a comparative study of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 are two different devices with different configurations Samsung Galaxy Note 8 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0: Design The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 which came out on the market as early as in 2013 sports a rounded look resembling most of the current Samsung device that is available in the market. It has a pronounced bezel and a plastic design. However, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is rumoured to be having a design with less bezel, but nothing has been reported from any source whether this device will have a metal body like Samsung Galaxy Note 7 or something else. Display There is going to be a sea change in the display of the upcoming device when it is brought in comparison to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 had a display resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels whereas the upcoming device is reported to be having a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels. Processor The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is reportedly going to have a 3.2 GHz Snapdragon 830 processor or an updated Exynos processor. However, the older device runs on an Exynos 4412 Quad core processor powered by 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 will become available in the market from April 2013 Samsung Galaxy Note 8 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0: OS The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be coming into the market with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box. But Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has an Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system which can be upgraded to Android 4.4 Kitkat. Features Rumours have suggested that the latest upcoming device is going to have an iris scanner and Samsung’s own artificial intelligence assistance. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 features Accelerometer, Gyro, Proximity and Compass RAM and Internal Storage The older device has 2 GB of RAM and an internal memory of 16 GB or 32 GB. Reports have revealed that the upcoming device will be having a RAM of at least 6 GB if not more than that. It will perhaps have an internal memory of 256 GB. Camera It is supposed that Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be having a dual lens camera and it might be of 30 MP, whereas Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is having a 5 MP rear camera and 1.5 MP front camera. While the upcoming device will be able to record 4k video, the older device records 720p videos at 30 fps. Battery Samsung Galaxy Note 7 had a battery backup of 3,500 mAh, and it is estimated that the upcoming device will be having a slightly better battery backup of 4,000 mAh. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is powered by a 4,500 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0: Price The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 was released in April 2013 and has a market price of $290 to $330. The price of the upcoming device is not known properly, but it is estimated that it might be priced around the $950 mark which is a hike of about $50 when compared with Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Conclusion Hence from this comparative study of the two devices which are having almost similar names, it is revealed that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is going to be a high-end device. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has been a success for Samsung. But it remains to be seen whether Samsung can make up for the loss that they have faced due to the fiasco that happened with Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is going to be one of the biggest bets for Samsung to come back to the position where they belong and which they have lost as a consequence to the fiasco of Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
