The Chinese tech giant Meizu is all set to rock the upcoming festive season as the company has unveiled two brand new handsets Meizu M3X and Meizu Pro 6 Plus. Although the Meizu M3X, announced in November is a high-mid range smartphone, the Meizu Pro 6 Plus, also announced in November, is touted as the flagship device of the company. Both the devices are expected to be launched in December, preferably in the first or second week of the month. Meizu M3X vs Meizu Pro 6 Plus: Features Comparison
Body: Dimension wise the Meizu M3X measures 153.8 x 76 x 7.4 mm and weighs 165g. On the other hand, the Meizu Pro 6 Plus measures 155.6 x 77.3 x 7.3 mm and weighs only 158g. So it is quite astonishing that although the Meizu Pro 6 Plus is bigger in size, the phone weighs less than the Meizu M3X.
Display: The Meizu M3X features an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen 5.5-inch display with a pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and 16M colours density. Being a flagship device, the Meizu Pro 6 Plus comes with a bigger display size of 5.7-inches and features Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a pixel resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and 16M colours. So in terms of the display size and quality, the Meizu Pro 6 Plus is the hands down winner.
OS and Chipset: Both Meizu M3X and Meizu Pro 6 Plus run on Android v6.0 (Marshmallow) OS. Under the hood, the Meizu M3X houses a Mediatek MT6757 Helio P20 chipset and an octa-core processor (4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.6 GHz Cortex-A53). The GPU of the handset is Mali-T880MP2.
On the other hand, the Meizu Pro 6 Plus includes an Exynos 8890 chipset, but the CPU of the handset differs depending on the internal storage. The 64 GB variant comes with a different octa-core processor (4×2.0 GHz Mongoose & 4×1.5 GHz Cortex-A53) and the 128 GB version houses a different octa-core processor (4×2.3 GHz Mongoose & 4×1.6 GHz Cortex-A53). Not only the CPU, but the GPU also differs from each other. The 64 GB version comes with a Mali-T880 MP10 GPU and the 128 GB variant features Mali-T880 MP12 GPU.
Memory: The Meizu M3X comes in two memory variants, one with 3GB RAM clubbed with 32GB internal storage and the one with 4GB Ram coupled with 64GB RAM. On the other hand, the Meizu Pro 6 Plus only comes in 4 GB RAM version, though the internal storage varies from 64 GB to 128 GB. Many pundits expected that the Meizu Pro 6 Plus would feature 6 GB RAM, but still the device is very powerful regarding multitasking and top notch performances.
Camera: The Meizu M3X flaunts a 12-megapixel primary camera in the rear end of the phone, and a secondary 5-mega pixel shooter is placed on the front side of the device. The phone is also capable of recording 1080p HD video at 30fps.
The Meizu Pro 6 Plus also comes with the similar camera setup of the M3X. But the difference is, unlike the Meizu M3X, the video recording capability of the Pro 6 Plus is 2160p@30fps.
Battery: The Meizu M3X is powered with a non-removable Li-Ion 3200 mAh battery where as the Meizu Pro 6 Plus comes with a non-removable 3400 mAh battery. Both the devices support fast battery charging. Although we don’t know anything yet about the stand-by time and talk time both the devices will provide to its users.
Network: The Meizu M3X supports GSM, HSPA, and LTE network options. But as the Meizu Pro 6 Plus is a flagship device, it comes with more network options and supports HSPA, GSM, EVDO, and LTE.
Sensor Options: The Meizu M3X features fingerprint, gyro, accelerometer, proximity and compass as sensor options. While the Pro 6 Plus also include the heart rate monitor along with the aforementioned sensor options which are present on the M3X.
Meizu M3X vs. Meizu Pro 6 Plus: Price
Although the Chinese smartphone manufacturing company has not announced the price of any of the two devices yet, it is expected that the 32GB version of the Meizu M3X will be priced at $248(almost Rs 16, 990) and 64GB at $292 (almost Rs. 19,990).
On the other hand, the Meizu Pro 6 Plus is expected to come with a price tag of $436 (almost Rs. 29,890) for the 64GB variant and $480(almost Rs. 32, 890) for the 128GB variant.
