South Korean tech giants Samsung launched their premium line of smartwatches, the Samsung Gear S3 variants, earlier this year at the IFA 2016 and the consumer electronics manufacturer are all set to make their premium wearable variants available in the Indian market from January 2017 according to Sammobile reports. The product has already proved to be a huge success in some of the important markets around the world including Canada, Europe, Korea, the US, UK and Samsung would hope that the smartwatch will get an equally positive reception from the Indian consumers.
The Gear S3 will be launched in two variants: Gear S3 classic and Gear S3 frontier. The Gear S3 classic is the successor to last year’s Gear S2 classic, while the Gear S3 frontier is the successor to the Gear S2. The Frontier model of Gear S3 comes with a cellular radio chip that allows the smartwatch to connect to high-speed 4G mobile networks. This means that the watch does not require to be tethered to your smartphone in order to connect to the Internet or make calls. Both the smartwatches sport a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with Samsung’s Tizen-based wearable platform 2.3.2 on the software front.
The smartwatches further boast displays with the Full Color Always On Display mode, an inbuilt loudspeaker to take calls and for music playback, GPS connectivity for tracking activity, and larger batteries for longer battery life. The watches are also further capable of making payments in the countries where Samsung Pay is available. Both Gear S3 variants are compatible with standard 22mm watch bands.
No exact date as to when in January, these two wearable devices will hit the market have been obtained as of yet but we are quite sure that Samsung will not delay the launch of the Gear S3 much further.
