First unveiled in 2015, the latest generation of the Samsung Galaxy J7 is the 2017 Galaxy J7. The specs of this new phone have recently surfaced and while not overly impressive does seem to be a competent successor to the 2016 Samsung Galaxy J7. Sporting the model number SM-J727P, the new phone will be launched soon. The news comes in the wake of the Galaxy A series being launched in Russia.
2017 Samsung Galaxy J7 Specs and Features
The 2017 Galaxy J7 will boast of a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display with a display resolution of 1280 x 1080 pixels. The new phone will run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The leaks have specified that the new Galaxy J7 scores 889 and 4200 in single-core and multicore performance respectively. A 2.21 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 2GB RAM will power the new phone. The Adreno 506 GPU is built-in. We had previously reported that the 2017 Galaxy J7 would come with a 16MP primary camera. The new listing, however, shows a slightly tweaked configuration with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The phone is said to be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery. While decent, the specs are hardly impressive.
Launched early last year, the 2016 Samsung Galaxy J7 is still going strong after being launched in India initially at Rs 13,990. The existing J7 has features such as the S-Bike mode, Ultra Data Saving mode and the ‘My Galaxy’ app which ensures better customer service across the country. We expect that the 2017 Samsung Galaxy J7 will also feature these technologies and pack in a few more features. We also expect a microSD card slot on the new phone to allow expandable memory, possibly up to 256GB.
2017 Samsung Galaxy J7 Price and launch dates
The 2017 Samsung Galaxy J7 will be announced in all probability at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona which starts in the last week of February. The price of the new phone is unknown at this moment. However, the smartphone will be available in two colour choices of white and grey from what we know as of now. The new 2017 Samsung Galaxy J7 will make sure that Samsung’s hold on the budget smartphone market remains as strong as ever.
