Oppo, the Chinese OEM giant whose phone are known for their fantastic selfie and photographic abilities, has yet to launch its next offering, the Oppo Find 9. Leaks, however, have sprung up which indicate that the Oppo Find 9 will follow the flavour of the season by going with a bezel-less display with the entire real-estate on the front of the phone being occupied by the display. A slight hint of the now-dumped bezel can be viewed on the leaked photos, however.
Oppo Find 9 Specs and Features
A word on the naming first. The previous Oppo phones have boasted of the Color OS which has been done away with in the new phone. The Find OS adorns the new phone. The leaks reveal that two variants of the phone are expected to make their way to the consumer. The first variant will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 653SoC which will be paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. A second variant will be powered by the latest and the most impressive Snapdragon 835 processor which will be mated to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. We expect microSD card slots to be present in the phones to increase storage options. A 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitative touchscreen display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a pixel density of 534 ppi is expected as well. The display will support multitouch options and will add extra protection with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The Adreno 540 GPU will lend a helping hand to provide enhanced performance.
The new Oppo Find 9 will ship with the usual impressive camera features. The rear camera will be a 12MP one with phase detection autofocus, Optical Image Stabilisation and dual-tone LED flash. The camera will be capable of recording 2160p videos at 30fps. The front camera is 8MP with stunning selfie functionality. Other camera features include geo-tagging, touch focus and face detection. A rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, an accelerometer, a gyro and a proximity sensor complete the package. The Li-ion battery will be non-removable.
Oppo Find 9 Price and Release Date
The newest offering from Oppo’s stable does not have a price as of now. We expect the new phone to launch in the first half of this year. This will be a budget smartphone and is likely to feature a virtual assistant to lure potential consumers. Amazon recently announced the Alexa for Huawei’s range of newer smartphones. Whether Oppo follows suit is something only time will tell.
