The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will be rolling out on May 25. As per reports, the handset will first launch in China and then at a later time, there’ll be a worldwide launch. Moreover, the company has rolled out a dedicated website for the upcoming flagship handset. As per previous leaks, the handsets will be coming from with some impressive features which will be an upgrade from the Xiaomi Mi Max that launched last year.
These are the features we learned the Mi Max 2 will have will sport a 6-inch display or a 6.44-inh full-HD display. While one variant is likely to come with 4GB of RAM with Snapdragon 626 SoC processor, the other variant will be coming with a 6GB of RAM with Snapdragon 660 SoC processor. There are speculations that one variation will sport a 6-inch display and another one will feature 6.44-inch full-HD display.
The handset will sport 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX378 sensor as well as 5-megapixel front camera for taking selfies. The handset will sport an all-metal body, as per rumors and come with a storage of 128GB. The handsets will come with a price tag of CNY 1,499 and CNY 1,699 respectively. Some of the other features, we heard Mi Max 2 will be coming with are 3.5mm audio jack on the top, dual speaker grilles at the bottom edge of the handset, a USB Type-C port, and similar to the Mi Max, the Mi Max 2 could be coming with a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone around the center.
At this point, it’s probably worth mentioning the features of the predecessor Xiaomi Mi Max. The device will be featuring a 6.44-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at a PPI of 342 pixels per inch. Launched in May 2016, the device packs hexacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor and packs 16-megapixel primary camera that comes along with a 5-megapixel front camera. The Mi Max measures 173.10 x 88.30 x 7.50 and weighs 203.00 gram. The device runs Android 6.0.1 and is backed by a 4850mAh non-removable battery.
Mi Max can house dual SIM where it accepts Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM. As far as the connectivity options are concerned, the Mi Max came with USB OTG, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Infrared, FM, 3G and 4G and sensors like Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope. While the Xiaomi Mi Max comes with quiet attractive but the successor seems to be better. Looks like we’ll have to wait for May 25.
