New Video Shows Off iPhone 8 Dummy with Vertical Dual-camera Set Up

The iPhone 8 has been a reason for excitement for some and trepidation for others. With the iconic smartphone celebrating its tenth-year anniversary this year, Apple is expected to go big with the innovations. And as far as leaks go to show, we have a great new device to look forward to. At the same time, the imminent launch has led some of the biggest flagship launches to push their schedule up the calendar. Needless to say, the focus has been on some of these devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and the LG G7, but a new video of the iPhone 8 brings the attention back to what’s coming later this year.

Well-known tech leakster OnLeaks has shared a new video featuring a dummy unit of the iPhone 8 that showcases what the upcoming smartphone might look like from the outside. The video, created in collaboration with Tiger Mobiles, showcases the iPhone 8 from all possible angles. The design is somewhat similar to what we saw in last year’s iPhone releases, barring some changes that stand out.

Going by the video, the iPhone 8’s front panel is dominated by the display, with negligible bezel space on the sides and the bottom of the device. The upper bezel has been kept thicker to accommodate the front-facing camera module along with the necessary sensors. Another notable fact to note is the absence of a fingerprint scanner at the bottom of the device, which suggests that we may see it embedded into the display in an impressive feat.

From the back, the iPhone 8 Plus will come with a dual-camera set-up like the iPhone 7 Plus, but this time around, it looks like Apple is going for a vertical design, with the flash module placed in between the lenses. The protruding module is still present, however, so your iPhone 8 will not lay flat on a surface.

Coming to the dimensions of the device, OnLeaks shows in the video that the iPhone 8 will come sport measurements of 143.5 x 71 x 7.5mm. Save for the Apple logo, the rear of the device is kept clean, which also raises questions about the positioning of the fingerprint scanner. To see how the device looks from the inside, check out the tweet below.

We don’t know how much the actual iPhone 8 will resemble the dummy unit shown off in the video, but considering OnLeak’s reputation, this might very well be what we can expect to see. Apple is said to reveal three new iPhone models this year, which include the iPhone 7S and the iPhone 7S Plus alongside the iPhone 8.
