The much awaited LG V30 has finally received a release date. The Korean giant has started sending out ‘Save The Date’ invites for the eagerly awaited launch event, set to take place at 9:00 AM CST on August 31. The company’s invite does not reveal too much but is almost certain to be a big-budget release, for it is a ‘Save The Date’ event. The invite shows a phone’s silhouette appearing shaped like the letter ‘V.’ The invite is not very subtle in this respect. We do know a number of things about the LG V30, one of which is the fact that this is set to be the first device in LG’s lineup to have an OLED display.

A report by XDA Developers had earlier pointed out that the LG V30 would ditch the secondary display, which was one of the highlights of the LG V10 and the LG V20, the latter of which is the immediate predecessor. Also, the device is set to come with a dual rear camera setup as evidenced by leaked CAD reveals.

One of the key features of the upcoming LG V30 will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, which is one of the most powerful and energy efficient chipsets currently available. Also expected are 4GB of RAM with at least one variant with 64GB of native storage, with an option to increase via a microSD card slot. One of the most noteworthy features is the improved Quad DAC, which makes the audio quality much improved. The Quad DAC feature was also seen on the LG G6, which sounded spectacular.
