Yu Mobiles, the Micromax-owned online-only smartphone brand, had recently revealed its new Yu Yureka Black smartphone, which was a moderate success. Now, two new phones from the same brand have been spotted on Geekbench: the Yu YU5011 and the Yu YU5012. However, these might be two variants of the same device as well.
The specs and features of the new devices have also been disclosed thanks to the listing. Both will be powered by the 1.25GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor. This quad-core processor will ensure better performance as well as a lag-free user experience. Also on board is 2GB of RAM on the YU5011 features. The YU5012, meanwhile, has been revealed with 3GB of RAM. Both of the two new Yu mobiles have been seen to be running the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
The listing, which was first spotted by PriceBaba, has also revealed one more important aspect: these new Yu devices will probably be assembled and tested in India, which will ensure a quicker launch in the country as well.
The last time Yu Mobiles launched a smartphone in India this year, it was the Yu Yureka Black. The Yu Yureka had decent specs but was a reasonable success. It had a 5-inch full HD display which also had 2.5D curved glass as well as Gorilla Glass 3 protection across the device. At the heart of the device was the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC which had been clocked at 1.4GHz. The device had shipped with 4GB of RAM. There was 32GB of onboard or native storage offered, further expandable by up to 128GB thanks to a microSD card.
Since the Yu Yureka Black had come with 4GB RAM, it was priced at just under Rs 9,000. This means the Yu YU5011 and the Yu YU5012 may possibly come for a slightly lesser price tag.
