A new smartphone, apparently called the Xiaomi Helium, has been spotted on popular benchmarking website Geekbench. From what the listing shows, the yet-to-be-announced smartphone will have 3GB of RAM, while the Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor, which has been clocked at 1.40 GHz, will power the device.
The Geekbench listing shows that the new smartphone has received 1486 points in the single-core test while in the multi-core test, the device has received 4683 points. Judging by the leaked specs, the new device can safely be said to be a mid-range smartphone. The handset was seen to be running on the Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system, the latest in the series of Android OS.
With eight cores, the Xiaomi Helium should be a good performer even in the mid-range segment. Now that the device has been seen on Geekbench, it will not be too long before some other specs and features of the new device are known publicly.
The last device from the house of Xiaomi we saw was the Xiaomi Jason, which was later christened the Xiaomi Mi 6X. The Jason, or the Mi 6X, will have decent, if not spectacular, features. It also has a smaller form factor with a 5.1-inch display which will have a stunning display as it has 1920×1080 pixels of resolution. The device will have five finger gesture support.
Other aspects of the listing pointed out that the Jason/Mi 6X will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Octa-Core processor, clocked at 2.2 GHz. Also onboard will be 6GB RAM which will complement the 64GB of internal storage. There is one new feature as well: 50GB of the total storage will be reserved for users. With the Adreno 512 GPU paired with the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS, the Jason will be one of the best devices available.
As for the newly spotted Xiaomi Helium, we may get to hear about price and launch date details soon enough.
