Back in March, the Chinese smartphone making company Vivo launched the mid-range smartphone Vivo Y66. Although that smartphone comes with a 16-megapixel front facing camera, and the company’s signature Moonlight Selfie effect, but with the $196 price tag, it misses some necessary modern day smartphone features, such as a fingerprint scanner and the Android Nougat operating system. So, now the company has decided to launch another smartphone under this entry level Y-series, dubbed as the Vivo Y69, which fills the void left by its predecessor, the Y66.
The Vivo Y69 sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with the pixel resolution of 720×1280 pixels, just like the Y66, and is covered by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, the smartphone comes packed with a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6570 chipset clubbed with 3GB of RAM. The Vivo Y69 houses 32 GB of native storage which is expandable up to 256 GB, with the virtue of microSD card slot present in the handset. The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with the company’s very own Funtouch OS 3.2 skinned top of it. The Vivo Y69 is backed by 3000mAh battery.
As we mentioned above, the USP of the Y-series devices are the cameras they offer and the Vivo Y69 is not an exception too. Just like the Y66, the newly launched handset also sports a 16-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture, Samsung S5K3P3ST sensor, Moonlight Glow light, and other camera modes such as Live Photo, Bokeh, and Group Selfie. At the rear end, the Y69 boasts of a 13-megapixel snapper accompanied by a f/2.2 aperture, Samsung S5K3L8 sensor, and dual-LED flash.
Talking about the sensor options, the handset features a fingerprint sensor on its Home button along with proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and digital compass. Coming to the connectivity front, the Y69 comes with 4G VoLTE, 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth v4.2. Available in Matte Black and Champagne Gold color, the Vivo Y69 measures 154.6×75.7×7.7mm and weighs only 162.8 grams.
The Vivo Y69 is priced at Rs. 14,990 and will be available in Flipkart, Amazon and other offline stores from 1st September.
