If the latest reports are correct, the ZTE Blade A2S is going official and will start sales from September 8. This is the latest device in ZTE’s affordable ‘A’ series, some of whose offerings we have previously covered. You can read about the ZTE Blade A320 as well. ZTE had also launched the world’s cheapest smartphone with a fingerprint sensor, the ZTE Blade A1. With the arrival of the ZTE Blade A2S, the range will get a boost, we expect.
Just to recap: the new ZTE Blade A2S is a successor to the Blade A2. This equips it with a lot of pretty decent features. It still has an aluminum body; however, to aid in better handling, the back has been curved. The display size is now 5.2-inches, which means that this successor has received an upgrade. The resolution on board is a pretty neat 1080p.
Powering the new device is a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor, which means that the new device will be faster than it ever was previously. With 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space, the internal memory can still be bumped up thanks to the presence of the hybrid dual SIM slot, which supports only nano SIMs. On the back is a 13MP camera armed with LED flash while the 5MP sensor on the front is capable enough. Although this ZTE device does not come with a selfie flash, there is something called the selfie screen flash which is more than adequate for taking pictures.
Underneath the surface is a 2540mAh chargeable via a micro USB port. While we could see speaker grilles on both sides of the charging port, in reality, it has only one speaker. On the top of the Blade A2S device is an audio jack and just below the rear camera’s location sits a fingerprint scanner. One big feature is the real time language translation feature. This feature, however, works only with ten languages.
As far as the ZTE Blade A2S price is concerned, it will start retailing in China via JD.com from September 8. The color variant is silver while the price tag is ¥699 or $107.
