A few months back, Andy Rubin’s Essential Products launched the Essential Phone with a hefty price tag. But as the rivals of this newly formed startup, like Google and Samsung, has launched their flagship smartphones at a much lesser price, Essential Product has been forced to slash the price of the Essential Phones too. The Essential Phone was priced at $699 (approximately Rs. 45,460) when it was launched first. But now the smartphone is available at a price tag of $499 (approximately Rs. 32,457) so that the handset can compete with other big fishes of the industry. So the interested buyers can acquire the smartphone from the company’s official website, i.e Essential.com in a much lesser price.
The President and Chief Operating officer of Essential, Niccolo de Massi has made the announcement and said it is an attempt by the startup to “make it even easier for you to experience our products and our band.” The company also thinks that with a slashed price tag, now the smartphone can lure away some of the potential customers who set their mind to but the iPhone X which is available at a starting price of $999 or the Google’s Pixel 2 XL, which is scheduled to go on for sale from 3rd November with a price tag of $849.
Although Essential Phone has reduced their price tag by a considerable amount, the company has also mentioned that this price drop is temporary and is a “limited time offer,”. The offer is valid until 15th November. So if you are thinking to buy the Essential Phone, you should hurry to grab the phone as soon as possible. Massi has also mentioned on the official website, “At Essential, one of our driving principles is that premium craftsmanship and the latest technologies shouldn’t be for the few. We could have created a massive TV campaign to capture your attention, but we think making it easier for people to get their hands on our first products is a better way to get to know us,”
