Caribu Interactive Storytime App Keeps Military Families Connected Over the Holidays with Free 6 Month Subscriptions

Reading bedtime stories to children is proven to be a crucial part of early life development. Not only does it build stronger connections between parent and child, but it plays an important role in building brain networks, imagination, vocabulary and critical reading skills. However, for some such as parents in the military, reading bedtime stories is not always possible.

Caribu is an education platform and engaging livestream shared-screen experience that helps parents, extended family, and mentors read and draw with children when they’re not together. Now until December 31st, Caribu is gifting free 6 month subscriptions to all 1.3 million currently serving military so they can stay connected over the holidays.

“We saw a picture of a soldier struggling to read to his daughter through a webcam and thought, this is unacceptable,” said Maxeme Tuchman, Caribu C.E.O. “In this day and age, how do we have military service members serving our country and keeping our families safe and we don’t have better technology to help them stay connected to their family in a more engaging way?”

Caribu’s in-app bookstore contains hundreds of books and educational workbooks from leading children’s publishers. With books in 6 languages, Caribu is used internationally and in over 148 countries. The app is also interactive; kids and parents can use the story guide pointer to follow along with the text, zoom in, and also draw in real-time using rainbow-colored virtual crayons.

Caribu only requires basic information to verify military status and only one person needs to have the subscription for the app to work. After the promotion ends, Caribu is only $6.99 a month.
