One of the most eagerly awaited devices of the year, the Honor 9 Lite, has finally been launched. Just a few days ago, we had given you a hint of how much the device would cost. The release date of the new device, whose name indicates that it is actually a watered down version of the Honor 9, was also covered by us. Now that the Lite version is finally here, we can take a good hard look at it.
Honor is Huawei’s sub-brand. The new smartphone has a price tag of 1,199 Yuan (which is approximately Rs 11,667) for the 3GB RAM and the 32GB storage option. A more premium option, the 4GB RAM + 32GB native storage variant, is priced at 1,499 Yuan (again, approx. Rs 14,586). Finally, we have the 4GB RAM and 64GB native storage variant, the most premium of the range, which starts selling at 1,799 Yuan, a sum approximately equal to Rs 17,506).
Starting December 26, the Honor 9 Lite will start retailing in China. Available color options are Navy Blue, Seagull Gray, Magic Nightfall and Pearl White. With so many color options, it is difficult to pick one!
One major plus point of the Honor 9 Lite is the four cameras. Also appreciated is the stunning bezel-less 18:9 display. The Honor 9, which was launched in Europe in July this year, has some similarities with the other Honor smartphones.
The Honor 9 Lite specs and features include many great ones: onboard is the 5.65-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display that boasts a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The aspect ratio of 18:9 is meant for a full-screen movie viewing. Huawei’s own in-house HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor powers the device.
What makes the Honor 9 Lite special? Well, alongside the two variants, one with 3GB and one with 4GB of RAM, there is 32GB and 64GB of internal storage, both of which are expandable thanks to MicroSD card support to up to 256GB. With dual cameras on the rear and on the front, we have four cameras. Both the rear and the front have the same camera configurations: one 13-megapixel primary complementing a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. Great photography is made possible thanks to such features like with PDAF, 3D beauty, and bokeh effect.
