Debuted in China, the Nokia 7 device was expected to land in India as well with bells and whistles on October 31. However, the aforementioned news was not what HMD Global was planning to, on contrary, other reports closely indicated that Nokia 7 will not launch anytime soon in India. If the latest report is anything to go by, then there’s a good news for our Nokia fans. The Nokia 7 smartphone is reported to launch worldwide in early next year.
While we are still unsure on whether or not the device will land in India, Pekka Rantala, the Chief Marketing Officer of HMD Global previously stated, “Nokia 7 is designed for Chinese consumers, so currently we’ve no plans to bring it to India.” From this statement, one may expect the global variant of Nokia 7 to launch in India as well after debuting worldwide which is also believed to apparently roll out with few tweaks.
Previously we have seen a similar strategy by HMD Global which took months to reach the global markets with Nokia 6. Now, this Nokia mobile device is also receiving a similar approach for the global launch. To go into the depths of the pricing, the Nokia 7 is currently available in two price variants- while the base variant comes with a price tag of RMB 2,499 (approx. Rs. 24,443), the high-end variant is priced at RMB 2,699 (roughly Rs 26,399).
To recall, the Nokia 7 comes with a 5.20-inch touchscreen display with a screen resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels. The under-hood specs offer an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor clocked at 1.8GHz and paired with 4GB or 6G of RAM. The phone delivers an inbuilt storage of 64GB capacity which could be further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card slot.
On the imaging front, the phone comes with a 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear panel and sports a 5-megapixel front shooter. The phone runs the Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system, out of the box. Powering the device, there’s a 3000mAh non-removable battery. Nokia 7 measures 141.20 x 71.40 x 7.90mm and comes with connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, 4G, 3G, GPS, and more.
