Japanese electronics giant Sony, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018, already announced its three mid-range Sony Xperia smartphones in Las Vegas, USA. Touted as the Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, and Xperia L2, the devices remained unchanged when compared to its predecessors. Latest reports suggest that these smartphones are apparently confirmed to get available for purchase which will start from February. Now, if we go by the recent report, there is a revelation that the company will announce the Xperia XZ Pro and the Xperia XZ2 flagship smartphones at the tech show: Mobile World Congress (MWC) this year.
According to the fresh information suggests, a mysterious Sony Xperia smartphone carrying a 5-inches display size has already cleared the FCC certification. Moreover, Sony can unveil this smartphone at the MWC 2018. As per the speculations so far, this mysterious Sony smartphone is taken as the alleged Xperia XZ2 Compact. From the latest report, the Sony phone which measures 135 x 65 mm and includes a 5-inch display has been certified by FCC, the Federal Communication Commission in the U.S.
The FCC ID of this mysterious Sony smartphone is PY7-24118Q. Earlier we have seen another mysterious Sony phone with Snapdragon 630 SoC seen at FCC sans a 3.5 mm audio jack, it seems that this FCC certified smartphone is a different handset from the earlier mysterious Sony phone, reports indicate. Although the dimensions of this Sony device are alike to the older Sony phone named Xperia UL unveiled at the MWC in the year 2013. The smartphone measures 135 x 71 mm and bestows a 5-inch display. Talking things into consideration, the mysterious Sony phone with PY7-24118Q carry a full-screen compact design.
Speculations are rife that this smartphone might be the alleged Xperia XZ2 Compact. According to the leaks so far, the device is expected to support an 18:9 aspect ratio with a 5-inches display. Underneath, it may house the Snapdragon 845 chipset which will be paired with 4 GB of RAM and a native storage of 64GB. On the optics front, the device might measure a 19-megapixel camera. Up front, one may get an 8-megapixel camera for better selfie-snapping. Powering the device, there would be a 3,000mAh battery. In terms of the pricing, while nothing official has been offered right now, one may expect this device to be priced at 4,999 Yuan (which is approx. $792).
