Motorola is currently gearing up to unveil the Moto G6 series at a launch event to be held in Brazil on April 19. Since the past few weeks, we have come across a number of leaks and rumors of the Moto G6 series. Now, alongside the Moto G6 series, the company is also getting ready to launch the Moto E5 series smartphones sometime soon. The Moto E5 series include the Moto E5, Moto E5 Plus and the Moto E5 Play.
Now a leaked FCC listing that was spotted by Android Authority has surfaced online to reveal the processors used on the Moto E5 and the E5 Plus handsets. The leaked document has revealed the model numbers, the processors and the graphics processing unit of the two handsets. Apart from these, it does not contain any other information.
As per the FCC listing, the Moto E5 is shown to carry model numbers XT1924-4 and XT1924-5. It also reveals that the Moto E5 is likely to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2GHz quad-core 425 SoC coupled with an Adreno 308 GPU.
As far as the larger Moto E5 Plus is concerned, the FCC listing shows the smartphone to carry a model number of XT1924-3. It is likely to be powered by a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core 430 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz. It is supported by an Adreno 505 GPU.
As per earlier reports, the Moto E5 series smartphones are likely to arrive with 18:9 aspect ratio full HD IPS display of varying sizes. The Moto E5 is expected to come with a 2,800 mAh battery while the larger Moto E5 Plus is expected to arrive with a much larger 4,00mAh battery. Both the devices are likely to run on Android 8.0 Oreo flavor out of the box and are likely to receive the latest Android 8.1 update over the air after its launch.
As of now, Motorola is still tight-lipped about the Moto E5 series launch date. It is apparently too busy with the Moto G6 series launch.
