Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini Visits GeekBench with Snapdragon 660 Chipset and 4GB RAM

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9 Plus at the MWC 2018 that was held in Barcelona in February and also recently made them available in the Indian markets. Now a compact edition dubbed as Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini may soon make it to the global markets. The upcoming smartphone was spotted on the benchmarking website GeekBench with model number SM-G8750. Some of the specifications of the smartphone were also revealed in the process.

As per the GeekBench listing, the Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini could be a mid-range smartphone with modest specifications. According to the information on the listing, the smartphone will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC that is clocked at 1.84GHz. It will be backed with 4GB of RAM and will run on Android 8.0 Oreo flavor out of the box. No other information was available on the listing. It is also to be noted that there is no confirmation that the smartphone will be named Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini from the company yet and it is only as per rumors.

The smartphone also secured a score of 1619 in the single-core test and 5955 at the multi-core test at GeekBench. If the listing indeed turns out to be of the Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini then this device would become the first Mini variant for Samsung flagship devices after the Galaxy S5 Mini that was launched a long time ago. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini featured a 4.1-inch display which was much smaller than the original Galaxy S5 that carried a 5.1-inch display panel. The Galaxy S9 Mini will also possibly come with a smaller display panel than the Samsung Galaxy S9.

As far as the price and availability are concerned, no information is available right now but we are expecting some information in this regard to surface in the new few days.
