Sony Xperia L3 Leaked Renders Indicate the Presence of a Side Fingerprint Sensor

Japanese tech giant Sony recently launched the Xperia XZ3 flagship smartphone which sports top of the line features like an all-glass body, 18:9 aspect ratio display screen, and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. Now, Sony seems to be getting ready to launch the Xperia L3 which is going to be a mid-range handset from the company.

The Sony Xperia L3 is expected to become the first smartphone from the company to arrive with a dual rear camera module. Like the flagship Xperia XZ3, the Xperia L3 also features an 18:9 aspect display without a display notch. Talking about the design elements of the Xperia L3, it is expected to feature similar design elements like other smartphones from the company.

As per a leaked 360 render of the alleged Sony Xperia L3 shared by @OnLeaks via @PriceBaba, the smartphone features an all-glass design with a 2.5D curved glass finish. The device features a 5.7-inch display panel that is 8mm thick with a USB Type-C port on the bottom edge and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top edge. Unlike the Xperia XZ3 which does not feature a headphone jack, the Xperia L3 has retained this functionality as it is a mid-range offering.

The volume rocker key and the power key has been placed on the right edge of the smartphone while a side mounted fingerprint sensor can be seen clearly between the volume and power keys. This indicates that the device will not feature a back mounted fingerprint sensor like other smartphones from Sony.

Talking about the specifications, information is scarce at the moment, but as per some reports, the smartphone will feature a 5.7-inch HD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and will be protected on the top by 2.5D tempered curved glass. The device will arrive with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of inbuilt storage space. It will also feature a micro-SD card slot for further storage expansion.

The smartphone is likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 series chipset and will run on Android 9 Pie out of the box. No information is available about the price or launch date of the Sony Xperia L3 right now. However, a report has claimed that the smartphone will be priced around $300 in the US.
