The Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ are the latest flagship devices from the house of Samsung at present. The smartphones were unveiled for the first time at the MWC 2018 event in February and subsequently released globally including India. Recently the Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini with similar specifications to the Galaxy S9 on a smaller scale was also spotted online. Now a new variant named as Samsung Galaxy S9 Active has appeared online. As per reports, the new variant could be launch by the South Korean tech giant in the coming weeks.
As per a leaked screenshot obtained by Ready Tricks, a new smartphone model carrying model number SM-G893 may be launched by Samsung in the second half of this year. The device is expected to be named Samsung Galaxy S9 Active since the company had launched a handset last year with model number SM-G892 and named it Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. Coming to the specifications, the screenshot has revealed that the upcoming device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, the same processor that has been used on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+. It is expected to arrive with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage.
Coming to the other specifications of the handset, the Samsung Galaxy S9 Active is expected to sport a 5.8-inch QHD+ display with a resolution of 1140 X 2960 pixels. On the camera front, the device is expected to feature a 12-megapixel sensor on the rear with a dual aperture of f/1.5-f/2.4. On the front, it will feature an 8-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture. Apart from that, it is also expected to come with a massive 4,000mAh battery under the hood which could become a major highlight of this smartphone.
On the pricing front, the Samsung Galaxy S9 Active may come with a price tag similar to the Samsung Galaxy S9 considering the specifications and the high capacity battery. As far as the release date is concerned, the device may get unveiled in the third quarter of 2018 which will be followed by its availability a few weeks after the launch event.
