Kyocera has announced an all new smartphone – the Kyocera DuraForce Pro. The sturdy handset comes with built-in action camera, 3,240mAh battery, and is shock-proof, dust-proof as well as water-proof. The company said that the handset would be launched in the US in the coming months.
The highlight of the handset is its built-in action camera. Located in the back, the read camera in of 13-megapixels. The action camera can record Full HD resolution video and has a 135-degree field of view. In addition to multiple shooting modes, it even has its own image processor.
Speaking of the specifications, Kyocera DuraForce Pro features a 5-inch Full HD display of 1080×1920 pixel resolution. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor. It also has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.
Kyocera DuraForce Pro comes with a fingerprint sensor and an IPX5/IPX8 certification with Military Standard 810G for protection against dust, shock, temperature extremes, blowing rain, low pressure, immersion, solar radiation, humidity, vibration, temperature shock, icing/freezing rain and salt fog. It can with-standing immersion of up to 2m for up to 30 minutes. The handset is backed by a 3,240mAh battery that has Quick Charge support.
We already said that the handset sports are 13-megapixels camera and as for the front snapper, its 5-megapixels. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, 4G, LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Miracast and USB. The phone will come with 2-year manufacturer’s warranty, and it’s touchscreen is accessible even when you’re wearing gloves and also when the touchscreen is wet.
