The updated range of Apple’s Mac pro range has been unveiled. These start at $2999 and are expected to bolster further sales of the Mac Pro range. This is the third device for which Apple has unveiled a replacement or an embellishment in the last few weeks. The first was the red iPhone range and then there was the 9.7-inch iPad range.
New Apple Mac Pro Specs and Features
Two upgraded configurations of the tubular Mac Pro is now on offer. Note that the base model of the Mac Pro will get a new price tag in the US at $2,999 for the 6-core version. The base price in India has not been tweaked; the minimum price of the devices will start at Rs 2,49,900. The new model will packs better and more robust features including a 3.5GHz 6-core Intel Xeon E5 processor, supremely powerful Dual AMD FirePro D500 GPUs and 16GB of RAM. This is significantly higher than what was offered earlier, which was a quad-core processor with 12GB RAM.
The other range is priced higher but also offers ore and better features. Priced at $3,999 in the US), it features a 3.0GHz 8-core Intel Xeon E5 processor, coupled to the Dual AMD FirePro D700 GPUs and an astonishing 16GB of RAM. Remember that both these are configurable to 32GB (including four 8GB modules) or 64GB (which translates to four 16GB modules) of RAM. You ca always expand the internal storage or both models support by up to 256GB. They are configurable to 512GB or 1TB as well.
The other specs remain largely unchanged. These new models will offer 4 USB-3 ports, 6 Thunderbolt 2 ports, HDMI 1.4 UltraHD ports, Dual Gigabit Ethernet, and the issues of wireless connectivity will be admirably be taken care of by Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0. With the same measurements (at 9.9-inch and 6.6-inch- HxD), these updated devices seem to be worth the wait. Both these models weigh 11 pounds.
