The much anticipated and the enormously powerful Nokia 8 may finally be making its to global markets, latest reports indicate. Just last week, we reported that the new Nokia 6 would launch in India on August 23. Now, the Nokia 8 could be launched in order for HMD Global, which has the rights to manufacture smartphones under the Nokia brand name, to compete with the other flagship smartphones from the likes of Samsung and Apple.
This report by GSMArena shows that the new Nokia 8 could be launched globally on July 31. The price may also have been revealed as well: 589 euros, which translates to approximately Rs. 44,000. There has been some confusion over the nomenclature of the new device, however; some news outlets are also referring to it as the Nokia 9 as well. We had previously covered the Nokia TA-1004 spotted on the FCC as well. However, GSMArena believes that the device will indeed be called the Nokia 8.
Nokia 8 Specs and Features
From what we currently know, the new Nokia 8 may be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, which is an octa-core processor clocked at 2.45GHz. The Nokia 8 will be initially available with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device may also have an 8GB variant as well sometime in the future. The new Nokia device will have a 5.7-inch 2K display.
Other features of the new Nokia 8 are also very impressive. It will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat and will also feature a dual rear camera setup equipped with 13MP sensors. Also expected onboard are dual LED flashes as well. We know from previous reports that there will also be a USB Type-C port, as well as a 3.5mm audio jack and a decent battery which will be capable of supporting Quick Charge 3.0. However, since the reports are not yet confirmed, we will have to wait until July 31 to get a full idea of the Nokia 8. So, watch this space.
