Nokia 2’s Four Variants Receive FCC Certification

HMD Global, currently one of the busiest smartphone manufacturers and maker of all the current Nokia handsets, is all set to launch a new entry-level smartphone dubbed as Nokia 2. It was just prior to a couple of weeks that we reported about the first look of Nokia 2 which seemed to come with a fingerprint sensor. And now it appears to be a great news for HMD Global to have received the certificate of Federal Communications Commission for its low-tier smartphone, Nokia 2.

Four Variants of Nokia 2 Get FCC Certificate

The reports clearly indicate it’s not just one or two variants, but a total of four, that have been certified by FCC. While the model numbers revealed are TA-1007, TA-1023, TA-1029 and TA-1035, their specifications have not been unveiled yet. It is believed from the recent news, that the model number TA-1029 and TA-1035 will come with the dual-SIM feature, whereas, TA-1007 and  TA-1023 will be single sim Nokia 2 versions.

The ultra-budget smartphone, Nokia 2 spotted on Geekbench, had appeared as the “Unknown Heart” (alleged Nokia 2). It was informed that the entry-level smartphone is going to run Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. Other listings of the benchmarking site indicated the device to be powered by a quad-core processor and clocked at 1.27 GHz. With the recent reports, Nokia 2 is expected to debut by the end of this year, but tech enthusiasts are keeping a close eye at the August 16 event to be held by the Finnish company.

As per possibilities, one can expect Nokia 2 to come with Android 0 aka Android 8.0 update. Previously, we have seen Nokia 3 to receive an Android 8.0 update, that was confirmed by the Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas via a Twitter comment. However, the much-anticipated Nokia 8’s Geekbench listing also suggests the smartphone to come with the upcoming Android 8.0.

While Nokia 2 has already acquired the FCC certification, there are chances for the company to announce the devices in some couple of weeks at the August event. Until then we can expect more news arriving about the upcoming Nokia 2.
