Coolpad has decided to bring back the Coolpad Cool Play 6 in a new color scheme. Called the Sheen Black color scheme, the new device is a great new addition to the family. Only yesterday, the Coolpad Cool Play 6C had been launched. So, it does look like the company is on a launching spree for now. Scroll down as we detail the features and specs of the smartphone.
Incidentally, the Coolpad Cool Play 6 had been announced in August of this year and it went on sale from the next month. The new device has the same price tag and it will be available exclusively via Amazon.com starting today, 3 November 2017.
Coolpad Cool Play 6 Sheen Black Specs and Features
The specs and features of the new color variant are the same as on the original device. The Cool Play 6 boasts of a metal unibody that has a 5.5-inch Full HD (with a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels) in-cell display. Under the hood is an octa-core Snapdragon 653 processor (consisting of Quad 1.95GHz ARM Cortex A72 and the Quad 1.44GHz A53 cores) which will work in tandem with the Adreno 510 GPU. The smartphone will use, for now, the Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system. This is because Coolpad has already announced that it will provide the latest Android 8.0 OTA update by the month of December 2017, as far as the Cool Play 6 is concerned.
Also onboard is 6GB RAM combined with 64 GB of internal or native storage. The device, however, lacks a microSD expansion slot.
The dual-SIM device has excellent optics and photography features. There are 13-megapixel dual rear cameras that have such features like a f/2.0 aperture, apart from the phase detection autofocus (or PDAF), and a very handy dual-tone LED flash placed on the back. The Cool Play 6 has an 8-megapixel selfie snapper with a f/2.2 aperture. We especially admire the 4000 mAh non-removable battery which is great for gaming and browsing the Internet.
