This year, the first smartphone that the Taiwanese consumer electronics company announced is the HTC U11 EYEs, which has been leaked a couple of times thus far. Talking about the USP of the smartphone, it is equipped with a dual front-facing camera module and happens to be the initial smartphone from the company to sport the facial recognition feature. Apart from a full-screen display, the smartphone also comes with a mammoth battery.

The HTC U11 EYEs has 6 inches fitted Super LCD 3 display. Supporting a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, the device protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3. Underneath, there’s a Snapdragon 652 chipset which is coupled with 4 GB of RAM. As far as the internal storage is concerned, the U11 EYEs is equipped with a native storage capacity of 64GB. Powering the U11 EYEs, there’s a 3,930mAh battery.
The phone inherits 12-megapixel UltraPixel 3 rear-mounted camera which HTC U11 also sports. Features like f/1.7 aperture, ultrafast autofocus, dual-LED flash, fast HDR, Optical Image Stabilization, the back-illuminated sensor (BSI), 4K video shooting, and slow-motion video shooting are also included.
The frontal camera module (reported previously) consists of 5-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual cameras with a f/2.2 aperture, designed to shoot vivid selfies. Other features also include fast HDR, voice selfie, beauty mode, full HD video recording and bokeh mode as well which gives the allowance to users in order to adjust the depth of field in real-time. Besides facial recognition, the HTC U11 EYEs also comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The device runs the Android 8.0 Oreo OS which is customized with the most recent HTC Sense UI.

HTC‘s U11 EYEs measures 157.9 x 74.99 x 8.5 mm and weighs about 185 grams. The phone has already started with its pre-orders in the Chinese market today. HTC U11 EYEs comes with a price tag of 3,299 Yuan (~$512) in China. As per the shipping, the shipments of the pre-ordered units will start beginning from January 25. Also, the smartphone has been unveiled in other markets like Taiwan as well as Hong Kong with a price tag of 14,900 TWD (~$505).
