Apple has announced that the latest generation of its wearable, Apple Watch Series 4 will launch in India on October 19. The successor to last year’s Apple Watch Series 3 was unveiled last month and it features an all-new design with 30% larger display and 50% louder speaker than its predecessor.
Coming to the price of the Apple Watch Series 4, the 40mm GPS version of the device will be available in the country for Rs 40,900 while the larger 44mm version will come with a price tag of Rs 43,900. The Apple Watch Series 4 Cellular 40mm variant carries a price tag of Rs 49,900 while the 44mm variant will cost Rs 52,900. The Apple Watch Series 4 GPS and Cellular variants will be available in Silver, Space Grey and Gold aluminium case variants.
The Apple Watch Series 4 will start selling in the country from October 19. Pre-orders for the device have already started on the official Apple online store and e-commerce giant Flipkart. The device will also be available from Paytm Mall from October 18 and it has already listed the wearable on its website.
To recall the specifications, the Apple Watch Series 4 comes in two sizes of 40mm and 4mm and is powered by Apple S4 SoC that has a 64-bit dual-core processor with an all-new GPU. The Apple Watch Series 4 also comes with a next-generation accelerometer and gyroscope to detect hard falls. Apple has also equipped the device with an electrical heart rate sensor that is accompanied by an optical heart rate monitor to record ECG using the ECG app.
The Apple Watch Series 4 runs on watchOS 5 out of the box and features an improved speaker that is claimed to produce 40% larger sound than its predecessor. Apple has also relocated the microphone to the right side of the watch just next to the new Digital Crown to reduce echo and provide better sound quality.
