According to leaks so far, we got to know that Mobile World Congress will return in 2018 where the devices expected to debut were Nokia 9, the Nokia 7, and Nokia 2. But just days ago, after Nokia 7 got official in the Chinese markets, we informed that HMD Global would not unveil the device in India in the near future. On contrary, the company with Nokia 2 made its way in the Indian markets prior to a couple of days (reported here). While both Nokia 2 and Nokia 7 have already been official, the next-gen flagship device succeeding Nokia 8 is believed to be unveiled by the company anytime soon.
Days after believing Nokia 9 to not see the light of the day until next year, a leak reportedly appears that indicates a new Nokia Android smartphone to have an imminent launch. According to Baidu, the Nokia device with TA-1054 model number has cleared the compulsory certification in China. Already two Nokia smartphones with model numbers TA-1041 and TA-1042 have got certified, out of which one of them was the Nokia 7 (with TA-1042 model number). The only device awaiting its launch is the Nokia 9 device. The model numbers TA-1042 and TA-1054 are apparently considered to be Nokia 9’s variants.
HMD’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas, tips about the interest of the company in Borderless Display and transparent yet resilient material technology. Having said that, previously we have already Nokia 9 which indicated that the device will feature a bezel-less design along with 3D Glass Display. While Nokia 9 is apparently confirmed to feature a fingerprint sensor on its rear panel, other reports suggest that it will also ditch the 3.5 mm headphone jack.
In related news, we have also covered a Polished Blue variant of the device to appear anytime soon. As for pricing, Nokia 9 is pegged to be priced at Eur 750. While this has been hinted by the sources associated with the project, we await more news in coming days.
